Our key services by target audience:
Library Card & Library Account
Your TUM StudentCard, TUM PersonalCard, or TUM GuestCard serves as your library card. Upon issuance, you are automatically authorized to use the library and receive a library account.
As an external library user, you can apply for a library card – and thus a library account – at the circulation desk in the branch libraries.
Literature in the TUM OPAC
In our TUM OPAC online catalog you can find all media in one place. You can directly request, borrow, or read online the holdings of TUM as well as millions of media items from other academic libraries. Titles that are not available at TUM can be requested via interlibrary loan.
How it works:
- Log in to the TUM OPAC before starting your search
a) TUM members: with TUM ID
b) External users: with library number + password - Search for literature
- Request, borrow, or read literature online
Access to E‑Media
Most electronic resources are restricted by paywalls. Using your TUM ID and the services eAccess or Shibboleth, active TUM members can bypass these restrictions and access e-media free of charge, 24/7 – whether on campus, at home, or on the go.
