Book scanners are available for free use in the branch libraries. Please bring a USB flash drive to save your scans and ensure compliance with applicable German copyright law.

Mikrofilm Scanner
A microfilm scanner is available for free use in the Branch Library Main Campus. The device can create digital copies from both microfiche and roll microfilm in TIFF, PDF, and JPG formats and save them to a USB flash drive.
The microfilm scanner may only be operated by library users under the supervision of library staff. Please arrange an appointment by email. Please ensure that applicable German copyright law is observed.

Please observe the existing German copyright law when using the scanner! The lawfully permitted uses for teaching, science and institutions are regulated in the subchapter §§ 60a-60h UrhG.
Reproductions of copyright protected works for private purposes or your own scholarly use are permitted. An example of scholarly use would be reproductions for study purposes provided that the reproductions are solely for this purpose. Any commercial use of the reproductions is not permitted.
Any redistribution and publishing requires the prior consent of the copyright holders. Copyright protection expires 70 years after the death of the author(s).
