Branch Libraries

By public transport:
From Munich Central Station: Take the S-Bahn (all lines) to Marienplatz, continue by subway (line U6) to Garching, stop "Forschungszentrum", leave the station in the direction of travel. The library is located in the Chemistry Department building on the ground floor to the left of the main entrance. By car:
Coming from the south (e. g. from Munich) or from the north (e. g. airport), take the A9 autobahn to the Garching Nord exit (exit 70), continue east to the Garching research institutes and turn left into Freisinger Landstrasse B11, after about 500m turn right into Lichtenbergstrasse. The library is located in the Chemistry Department building on the ground floor to the left of the main entrance.

By public transport:
From Munich Central Station: Take the subway (line U2) to "Königsplatz" and leave the station in the direction of travel. Cross the square and follow Arcisstrasse to the left. Continue north and cross the intersection at Gabelsbergerstrasse. After a few metres you will reach the main entrance of the TUM, where you will find the library on the 1st floor. By car:
Drive along the Mittlerer Ring (town highway), from there you turn into Leopoldstrasse (near the on-ramp to the A9 autobahn to Nuremberg), after "Siegestor" (triumphial arch) turn right into Theresienstrasse (3rd junction after Siegestor), follow the road and turn left into Arcisstrasse at the 4th crossroads. After a few metres you will reach the main entrance of the TUM, where you will find the library on the 1st floor.

Please note: There is no parking space available for guests on the TUM main campus. The surrounding streets belong to a resident parking zone. Therefore we recommend to use public transport and Munich’s park and ride system.

By public transport:
From Munich Central Station: Take the S-Bahn (all lines) to Marienplatz, continue by subway (line U6) to Garching, stop "Forschungszentrum", exit in the rear direction. The library is located in the mathematics and informatics faculty building at the end of the lobby on the left. By car:
Coming from the south (e. g. from Munich) or from the north (e. g. airport), take the A9 autobahn to the Garching Nord exit (exit 70), then drive in the direction of the Garching research institutes across the junction Freisinger Landstrasse B11 and into Ludwig-Prandtl-Straße. Parking spaces are available on the left-hand side at the mathematics and informatics faculty building. The library is located at the western end of the faculty building. 

By public transport:
From Munich Central Station: Take the S-Bahn (all lines) to Marienplatz, continue by subway (line U6) to Garching, stop "Forschungszentrum", leave the station in the direction of travel. The library is located in the front part of the faculty building (building section 0) on the 1st floor. By car:
Coming from the south (e. g. from Munich) or from the north (e. g. airport), take the A9 autobahn to the Garching Nord exit (exit 70), then drive in the direction of the Garching research institutes via the junction with the Freisinger Landstrasse B11 into Ludwig-Prandtl-Straße. After about 400m you will find the mechanical engineering faculty building on the left-hand side of the road. The library is located in the front part of the faculty building (building section 0) on the 1st floor.

By public transport:
From Munich Central Station: Take the subway (line U4) to "Prinzregentenplatz", walk towards "Friedensengel" and after the theater turn left into Nigerstrasse; after a few metres you will find the library on your right. By car:
Drive along the Mittlerer Ring (city highway) and turn into Prinzregentenstrasse at Richard-Strauss-Ring/Leuchtenbergring, follow the road and turn left into Nigerstrasse after the theater. After a few meters you will find the library on your right. 

By public transport:
From Munich Central Station: Take the S-Bahn (all lines) to Marienplatz, continue by subway (line U6) to Garching, stop "Forschungszentrum", leave the station in the direction of travel. The library is located in in a stand-alone building on the 1st floor, next the faculty building and can be reached bia an outside staircase. By car:
Coming from the south (e. g. from Munich) or from the north (e. g. airport), take the A9 autobahn to the Garching Nord exit (exit 70), then drive in the direction of the research institutes via the junction with the Freisinger Landstraße B11 into Ludwig-Prandtl-Straße. Follow the right of way that bends to the left and after about 400 m leave the research reactor to your right. After 20 m turn right to the Physics Department. You will find the library in a stand-alone building and can be reached via an outside staircase.

By public transport:
From Munich Central Station: Take the subway (line U2) in the direction of "Feldmoching" and get off at the stop "Scheidplatz". There, transfer to line U3 in the direction of "Moosach" at the opposite platform and get off at "Olympiazentrum". From there, walk through the Olympic Village along Connollystrasse towards  University Sports Center Munich (ZHS). At the end of Connollystrasse, you will reach the TUM Campus at Olympiapark. The library is located on level 01 at the back of the faculty building, opposite the cafeteria. By car:
Access to the TUM Campus at Olympiapark is only possible via Georg-Brauchle-Ring. Use the feeder lane towards B304 in the direction of Dachau and turn right into the TUM Campus at Olympiapark. After the underpass, you will arrive directly at the new parking lot in the southern area of the campus (see access map for details). Please note that, as of 7 October 2024, access to the TUM Campus via Connollystraße will no longer be possible. Due to limited parking spaces, we generally recommend traveling by public transport.

By public transport:
From Straubing railway station, take the bus (line 4) to the stop "TUM Campus, Petersgasse". After getting off, walk a few metres against the direction of travel, turn left into Petergasse. After approx. 100 m, the street bends to the left. Follow it for another 100 m, where you will reach the entrance to the former Franciscan monastery on the right. The library is located on the ground floor (high ground floor). For further information on the city buses in Straubing, please contact the Straubing public services. 

By car:
Coming from the A92 autobahn (exit Landau a. d. Isar) or A3 autobahn (exit Straubing - Cham - B20). Continue on the B20 towards Straubing until the exit Straubing Ost/Ittling. Drive approx. 2 km in the direction of the city centre (Ittlinger Strasse). Turn right into St.-Elisabeth-Strasse (towards the hospital) and then left into Uferstrasse. After approx. 700 m turn left into Petersgasse, which turns left again after a short distance. Follow the alley on the right-hand side and you will find the underground car park of the TUM Campus Straubing. Coming from the north via Chamer Strasse to Straubing, then turn left at the Schlossbrücke bridge into Uferstrasse. After approx. 500 m turn right into Petersgasse.

By public transport:
From Munich Central Station: Take the train or the S-Bahn (line S1) to Freising station; from there, buses (line 638) take you to the campus of the Weihenstephan Science Center. Get off at the Weihenstephan stop. The library is located in the rotunda on Vöttinger Strasse. By car:
Take the A92 autobahn (direction Munich Airport/Landshut) to the Freising Mitte exit (exit 7); follow the Ismaninger Strasse and after about 2 km turn right into Münchner Strasse. In the city area of Freising turn left into Saarstrasse and follow the road; after about 500 m turn left into Vöttinger Strasse. After about 1 km at the junction to Weihenstephaner Berg you will find the library located in a rotunda on the right hand side.
