On Saturday night, 7 October, 2017, a building of the TUM Campus Straubing for Biotechnology and Sustainability was almost completely burned out. The historical Franciscan hospital, most recently used as a youth centre, has currently been under renovation. No one was injured.
Our Branch Library Renewable Resources, which is located in the nearby former Franciscan monastery, is not affected by the fire and is regularly open.
