Since yesterday, 20 November, the university libraries in Bavaria have a joint website:
http://unibibliotheken-bayern.de.
The new platform went online during the Bavarian Library Day 2014 in Rosenheim. The website wants to provide information on the university libraries' role in the academic and research community. It is aimed at academics, students, political decisionmakers, the press and the general public interested in science.
Who knows exactly, after all, what university libraries are doing? A lot of people are unaware that a modern academic library offers more than just books. Therefore, we wish to address the information deficit with are new joint website providing information on topics such as information literacy, publishing service, libraries as learning places, open access and digitisation.
