Pleasant Working Atmosphere

The TUM University Library offers a varied working environment in an innovation and challenging universitiy setting. Working in cross-departmental teams and projects, we offer our employees the opportunity to contribute to other areas (e.g. event management, social media or quality management) in addition to their core tasks. As an employee of the University Library, you have access to all TUM's further education and training programs(link is external). In addition, you have the opportunity to attend external seminars or conferences, such as Bibliothekartag (the German National Librarians Convention).

 

Promotion of work and family life balance

As an employer, the TUM and the Free State of Bavaria attach great importance to ensuring employees can reconcile job and family life. Generous part-time opportunities, flexible working hours (flexitime between 06:00 and 20:00), optional sabbatical and 30 days annual holiday help make this possible. In addition, there are various childcare services(link is external), holiday childcare, and advice centres for employees with families.

 

Various Sport & Leisure Possibilities

The University Sports Centre Munich(link is external) offers you as an employee of the TUM an extensive discounted sports program. Aerobics, badminton, golf, judo, lacrosse, mountain biking, pilates, rowing, salsa dancing, table tennis, yoga and Zumba are just a few of the many activities you can take part in. For various fitness, leisure, cultural and other offers you will receive discounts via the Staff Council services. Events and celebrations such as the maiTUM(link is external), or the TUNIX(link is external) or GARNIX(link is external) festivals also take place regularly at the TUM. Last but not least, as a staff member of the TUM University Library, you have free access to the University Library media collection.

 

Attractive Remuneration & Social Benefits of Public Service

Depending on the position, you can join us as an employee or civil servant in the public sector. We offer you a performance-oriented salary in accordance with the TV-L or the Bavarian Salary Act (Bayerisches Besoldungsgesetz). There are also annual special payments, an attractive company pension plan(link is external), capital benefits and the option of deferred compensation(link is external). In the case of outstanding performance, performance bonuses and allowances may also be awarded.
