In preparation for our new library system FOLIO, we need to temporarily limit our interlibrary loan services.
Starting 16 November:
❌ No book orders via interlibrary loan
✔ Copy request will remain possible
✔ Returns of interlibrary loans will be accepted
✔ Collection of previously ordered books will still be possible
If you need books not available in our collection, please use the interlibrary loan services of other local libraries.
Outlook: FOLIO Migration Week in January 2025
Our internal preparations for the transition to FOLIO have been in full swing for months. In January 2025, we will become the first university library in Bavaria to go live with FOLIO. This transition wil require the extensive migration of catalog, user, and lending data.

What this will mean for you as a library user:
- You will not be able to borrow physical media during the week of 14 – 20 January 2025.
- You will temporarily be unable to access your library account while your loans, orders, and reservations are migrated.
- E-media and study spaces will remain fully accessible.
We will provide detailed updates and information on our website and social media in a timely manner.
Background on the Migration Project
The Bavarian Library Network is replacing its old library system and is transitioning to the open-source software FOLIO. The library system manages core library operations such as lending, research, acquisitions, and cataloging. As one of the pilot libraries, we are collaborating with the network center and other Bavarian libraries to develop and implement FOLIO. The transition also impacts connections to other systems, including the central interlibrary loan server.
