Clock Discs – Pilot Project at the Main Campus

Eine Pausenscheibe mit eingestellter Uhrzeit

Starting 16 October 2023, we will launch the pilot project "Clock Discs" at the Branch Library Main Campus. The goal is to achieve higher and fairer occupancy of study desks.

And this is how it works: If you wish to leave your study desk temporarily, simply place the clock disc on your desk. In case you exceed the maximum allowed break time of 60 minutes, other library visitors may move your belongings aside and use the study desk. Tables without a clock disc can also be occupied anew. The University Library assumes no liability for personal items left unattended.

No More Study Space Hogging

With the introduction of clock discs, we aim to improve the workspace situation at the Branch Library Main Campus and to prevent the hogging of study space. Study desks that remain unoccupied for an extended period but are “reserved” by placing study materials on them should quickly become available to other library users. The plan for the future is to equip all branch libraries with clock discs.

You can find the clock discs in collection containers on each floor, and they can be returned at the exit.
