New Lecture in the Summer Semester 2022

Research Data Management for Students

Sustainable research data management requires specific skills and forward planning. To support engineering students in this challenge, we are offering the new course "Introduction to Research Data Management for Engineering Students" for the first time in the summer semester 2022 in cooperation with the TUM School of Engineering and Design, Chair of Aerodynamics and Fluid Mechanics.

The lecture offers the ideal introduction into the topic and answers questions such as: Why should I deal with research data management? Which tools support me in this? What does FAIRe data mean? How can research data be stored, archived and published? How can I access and use existing research data?

Furthermore, the lecture addresses special requirements for research data management in engineering: How do individual departments and non-university research deal with it?

Target group: Engineering students,

  • who deal with research data in their thesis
  • who want to pursue a career in research and development
  • who have a fundamental interest in research data management

The module is recognised with three credit points in various degree programmes.
