Our library system automatically notifies you by email about various loan-related activities, such as:
- Loan and return receipts will be sent to you electronically.
- Items ordered from another branch library are ready for pickup.
- Literature ordered via interlibrary loan is ready for pickup.
- An item you reserved is ready for pickup.
- The loan period for your borrowed items is due to expire.
- Overdue items are being recalled (1st and 2nd stage of the media reclaim process). Starting from the 3rd stage of the media reclaim process, you will receive written notices by certificate of postal delivery.
Please note that the University Library cannot assume responsibility for the delivery of emails. We therefore recommend checking your personal account in the OPAC regularly.
Which email address is used?
Active TUM Members
Our library system uses the primary email address stored in TUMonline (e.g. @tum.de or @mytum.de). Commercial email addresses (such as @gmail.com or @gmx.de) cannot be registered. However, you can set up email forwarding in TUMonline.
External users and TUM alumni
Our library system uses the email address you provided when you registered at the library. Please inform us immediately if your email address changes. To do so, please contact our First Level Hotline.
