Instructions for Authors

The papers will be published on the IATUL website. They must be submitted no later than 31 January 2009 and will be reviewed by the IATUL 2009 Conference Committee.
The organisers appreciate your co-operation in following these instructions to produce papers that are uniform in format.

Paper format

Papers should be supplied in MS-word-compatible format. Papers must be typed in English or in French (with an English abstract). The maximum paper length is 10 A4 (21cm x 29.7cm) pages which equates to approximately 4000 words. Papers should be typed single spaced using Arial font size 10 point. Pages should have 25 mm margins (top and bottom) and 30 mm (left and right). Do not use headers or footers.

Paper title

The title of the paper should be typed in Capitalised Words (boldface 16pt) and centred on the page. The author's name in bold letters and centred on the page. Directly under the author's name and also centred is the author's affiliation institution and country, plus e-mail address.

Abstract

Underneath the paper title section, please type the heading 'Abstract' and insert the text of the abstract which summarizes the material contained in the paper. Keywords should be placed after the abstract.

Figures and tables

Figures and tables should be inserted at the appropriate places in the text, centred, numbered consecutively throughout the text, and each should have a caption underneath. Care should be taken that the lettering is not too small. The use of colour in figures and tables is permitted and encouraged. Both colour and symbols improve legibility.

Acronyms

All acronyms should be defined the first time they appear.

Acknowledgements

The acknowledgement for funding organizations etc. should be placed in a separate section at the end of the text.

References

Authors are requested to use the APA referencing style. Details are available at http://www.apastyle.org. The list of references should be ordered alphabetically according to the first author surname. All references should be cited in the text, and using square brackets.

IATUL's copyright policy

IATUL claims the right to publish the paper (not the copyright). The policy of IATUL is to publish the conference papers and/or PowerPoint presentation in the IATUL Conference Proceedings on the IATUL website. The author retains the right to publish in any other media. Download the IATUL copyright form which should be signed, scanned and emailed or faxed to the Conference Secretariat.

PowerPoint presentations

All presentations must be brought to the Conference on either CD-ROM or USB flash drive. IATUL 2009 cannot guarantee connection for individual laptop computers. A technician will be on duty in each session room to assist you. Thank you for your cooperation in complying with these instructions.
