17:30 Twilight Function with a stunning view of the city from the top floor of the Auckland War Memorial Museum.

Tuesday 22nd

Cocktail Reception in the Hall of Yachting in the Maritime Museum, right on the edge of the Auckland's beautiful harbour.

Wednesday 23rd

08:15 - 22:30 The study tour destination is Waitangi, north of Auckland in the Bay of Islands. Waitangi, often described as the birthplace of a nation, is an historic site where a treaty was signed between Maori chiefs and representatives of Queen Victoria. The Treaty initiated a constitutional relationship with Great Britain and linked the Maori and non-Maori people of Aotearoa-New Zealand. At Waitangi, there will be an address by Evelyn Tobin, a member of the Library and Information Advisory Commission, and visits to the buildings in the Treaty House grounds. There will also be a stop en route at the town basin in Whangarei, the northern region's city, and a visit to its public library on the return journey, with dinner at Ascension Vineyard, Matakana.
  Dress: Comfortable and casual clothing. A light jacket and comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

Friday 25 April is a public holiday in New Zealand to commemorate all New Zealanders killed in war and also honours returned servicemen and women. Dawn parades are held throughout the country and the public are welcome to attend. Some Conference Committee members will be travelling from the Ferry Terminal in Quay Street, on the 9.15 ferry, to attend the Commemorative Service at Devonport at 10.00am and delegates are welcome to join them. There are some great restaurants in Devonport to have a coffee or a meal after the service. Further details will be available at the conference.
