On behalf of the Board of the International Association of Technological University Libraries (IATUL), we are delighted to welcome you to participate in the Associationīs 28th IATUL Conference.
The theme of this conference is Global Access to Science.
Science Publishing is rapidly changing due to the introduction of advanced electronic media which give new dimensions to the world wide access to scientific results. Also research in itself is changing with new established areas in E-science which were not possible before. The scholarly communication in the future is thus heavily influenced by the initiatives taken by universities and the information providers of today. Scholars all over the world are engaged in this process. Traditional peer-reviewed publishing is discussed in the light of different forms of Open Access. National programs are set up to support initiatives and actions to find ways to free online access to governmentally funded research.
Looking forward to seeing you in Sweden in June 2007. This will be the prime time for professional and social meetings, when nights are white and the waters of Stockholm make the city bright and a beautiful place to visit.
