IATUL membership is institutional with a senior library manager nominated as contact for the institution. All library staff of the member institution are entitled to membership discount on conference registration.

Membership is based on the calendar year, renewable in January. However, for those who join in the last quarter of the year (October to December), the membership fee will cover the following calendar year.

There are four categories of Membership:

(i) Ordinary membership:
Available to libraries/information services whose institutions offer masters or doctoral degrees in engineering, science or technology;

(ii) Associate Membership:
available, subject to confirmation by the Board, to libraries/information services interested in supporting the aims and objectives of IATUL;

(iii) Sustaining Membership:
available, subject to confirmation by the Board, to commercial organisations interested in supporting the aims and objectives of IATUL.

(iv) Honorary Membership:
which the Board may confer upon individuals who have served the Association, or international librarianship, with particular distinction;

Current membership fees:

(i) Ordinary & Associate members
EUR 107 per year
EUR 280 for three years
EUR 443 for five years
(ii) Sustaining Membership
EUR 500 per year

Members in less developed countries can apply for a reduction in the fees to the IATUL Board, forwarding an appeal to the Secretary.
