should clearly describe the issue, explain the methodology,
and, in the case of completed research, state the conclusions.
Position papers might propose theoretical models, present
state-of-the-art reviews, or formally describe strategies
or innovations that have the potential for substantive
impact. Papers are particularly encouraged that challenge
current assumptions and provoke readers to think creatively
and deeply about the issues facing academic librarians.
Authors
should submit a Proposal for Papers or Posters, including
an abstract of 300-500 words. Proposals will be evaluated
on the basis of these abstracts.
The
deadline for submission is January1,2003; authors will
be notified of acceptance in February 2003.
Authors
of accepted papers are expected to register for and
attend the conference and will be given 20 minutes to
present their papers within a 30-minute time slot. Completed
papers should be 1,800-2,500 words long and should be
scholarly in nature, well organized, clearly written, and
rigorously argued.Papers will be published on the IATUL
web site and in the IATUL Conference Proceedings on
CD-ROM.
