Why the TUM Workbench?

Productivity
The Workbench offers you research data and project management in one-stop – easy, efficient, seamless. Organise your workflows, manage your data, and keep your electronic lab book on one web-based platform.
Collaboration
Work with the Workbench across organisational boundaries. A transparent rights management allows you to invite team members and collaboration partners – whether they are from the TUM or external institutions. Share and co-edit content within our team.
Security
The Workbench is a TUM platform. Your data is stored on secure servers of the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre and not on cloud servers of commercial providers in third countries. Your research data is long-term archived and is protected against data loss by regular backups.
Control
You retain full control over your data – whether you work on your own or in a team. You decide to whom you grant reading access or editing rights. Automatic version control makes changes traceable and allows you to restore previous versions.
Flexibility
The Workbench is modular, so that you can flexibly decide which features you want to use. You can manage e.g. projects, tasks, appointments, contacts, resources, files, electronic lab books and data management plans.
Linking
Access all relevant information quickly and easily with the Workbench. You can link all content with each other and assign it to specific projects. Various interfaces allow you to connect to external systems.
Compliance
The Workbench supports you in planning and documenting your research projects in accordance with standards of your third-party funding bodies as well as Guidelines of Good Scientific Practice and Guidelines for Handling Research Data.
Cost Efficiency
The Workbench is available free of charge at the TUM. Simply log in with your TUM ID and start using the various features of the Workbench today.
