On 12 October 2026, we will open our new Branch Library Ottobrunn-Taufkirchen at the TUM Campus for Aerospace and Geodesy. Students, researchers, and faculty will benefit from modern study spaces, group rooms, and literature on aerospace engineering and aviation.

The LIT Freshers Day is the University Library’s onboarding event for first-semester students. In October 2026, you can get to know the services offered by the branch libraries and learn how to search for and access academic literature in the online catalog TUM OPAC.

Start your Studies with ease: From 12 to 28 October, our Library Tours provide an overview of the University Library’s services, study spaces, and resources. Learn how your library account, borrowing services, and the TUM OPAC work, and get practical tips for literature searching.

The Branch Library Chemistry will be closed to the public from 17 August 2026 through approximately 8 November 2026, due to urgently required construction work. During this period, please visit our other branch libraries.

Please note that special opening hours apply at our library locations on upcoming public holidays. Below you will find information on which branch libraries will be open on Ascension Day and Pentecost Monday.

Enjoy a quiet space to focus and get things done – our study carrels offer the perfect environment for concentrated work. Starting 1 November 2025, TUM members can reserve study carrels online.

More space, more possibilities: The first floor of the Branch Library Mathematics & Informatics now offers additional study spaces, group rooms, and – new this semester – Webinar Carrels. Whether you’re working quietly on your own, collaborating in a group, or joining a webinar – there’s a suitable space for every learning situation.

The Branch Library Main Campus will close at 18:00 on Thursday, 15 October 2026. The reason is “My First University Party” (MeUp), the student representatives’ welcome event at the Main Campus. Please plan your library visit accordingly.
