Download
First download the free version of Citavi.
Installation
Install Citavi Free on your computer.
Licence Key Request
Afterwards, request your personal licence key for the full version Citavi Team at www.citavi.com/tum.
Important: Your TUM mail address (*@tum.de or *@mytum.de) serves as authentication. An order with a freemailer address (web.de, GMX, Gmail etc.) is not possible.
Activation
Start Citavi and enter the licence key from the e-mail, that you normally receive from the software producer within 24 hours of request. The e-mail describes the procedure. With the licence key, the free version will be converted into the Team version for the duration of the campus hiring contract.

The TUM university library offers students, faculty and staff the usage of the full version Citavi Team as part of a campus licence. The Citavi licences are financed by tuition fees and library funds.

Terms of Use

The Citavi licence is limited to a single user. You may install the software on two computers, however, to have the opportunity to work with Citavi e.g. on your desktop PC and a loptop or at your workplace and at home. Instead of using Citavi on a second computer you may also install Citavi on a USB flash drive.
At the end of your studies or your employment at the TUM, you may not use the full version via the TUM campus licence any longer. You must either switch back to the free version or purchase a single user licence.

Change from Citavi Pro to Citavi Team

If you are working so far with Citavi Pro, as a employee or student at TUM you now have the opportunity to change to Citavi Team. There are only three things you need:

Citavi Version 3.1 or Later
If you are using an earlier version of Citavi, you can download the current version at www.citavi.com/en/update.html and install it. You don't need to uninstall first, and all of your projects and settings are retained.
A License Key for Citavi Team
If you are using a license key for Citavi Pro, simply request a new license key for Citavi Team at www.citavi.com/tum. Citavi Team license keys begin with 3X.
A Network Share for Your Team Projects
All members of your project must have access to this network share.

Features

Citavi is a reference management programme for Microsoft Windows, which supports your entire research process - from searching for sources to citing and finishing your paper.

Additional to classical references management tools Citavi offers functions for knowledge organisation and task planning. An online search feature allows you to search databases and catalogues from within the programme.

Citavi provides an interface in German, English, French, Italian, Polish, Portugiese and Spanish.
