On Assumption Day, 15 August 2026, the branch libraries at the Main Campus, Mathematics & Informatics, and Weihenstephan will be open during their regular hours. All other branch libraries and the First Level Hotline will be closed. Please check the opening hours of our locations here.
The Branch Library Chemistry will be closed to the public from 17 August 2026 through approximately 8 November 2026, due to urgently required construction work. During this period, please visit our other branch libraries.
On Tuesday, 21 July 2026, the First Level Hotline will not be available due to an internal event. Our colleagues will not be reachable by phone or chat on that day. You can still send us your questions about our library services by email; all inquiries will be processed the next day.
Branch Library Weihenstephan Closes Early on 26 June 2026
The Weihenstephan Branch Library will close early at 17:00 on Friday, 26 June 2026. The reason is the annual summer festival of the brewing students on campus. Please plan your visit accordingly and take note of the adjusted opening hours.
Please note that special opening hours apply at our library locations on upcoming public holidays. Below you will find information on which branch libraries will be open on Ascension Day and Pentecost Monday.
3 October 2026: Open Branch Libraries and Open House in Garching
On Saturday, 3 October 2026, the branch libraries Main Campus, Mathematics & Informatics, and Weihenstephan will be open. You are also welcome to visit the University Library at the Open House on the Garching Research Campus and stop by our information booth.
