Welcome to IATUL 2013

The Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) Libraries are the hosts of the 34th IATUL Conference which will be held in Cape Town, South Africa. We invite you to our beautiful ‘Mother City’ from 14th to 18th April 2013 for four days of discussions and exchanges on how academic libraries are engaging in various collaborative ventures. The discussions will centre on e-science strategies and beyond, e-learning, cloud computing and its impact on library services, libraries as collaborative hubs for students and faculty, inner university collaboration, libraries and their business partners and inter library networking at national, regional and international levels.

We look forward to welcoming delegates, speakers, distinguished guests and accompanying persons to our university which is spread over the Cape Peninsula with five campuses and five additional collaborative sites. CPUT is one of the leading new technological universities in South Africa with a student population of over 33,000 and over 1800 teaching and research staff and a strong emerging research portfolio.

All our delegates and distinguished guests will have good opportunities to meet and interact with academic librarians, researchers and information providers from all over the world as is typical in (at) IATUL gatherings. Cape Town is a perfect destination for this as it is an international city and a major tourist destination with diverse attractions. Our conference programme as well as the social programmes will provide you with the best that South Africa and Africa can offer.
