Welcome to Turkey- just the name itself conjures up visions of oriental splendor, mystery and intrigue. This is the country of sultans, harems, opulent palaces and the mighty Ottomans. The meeting point of the world's three great civilizations, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman, former center of Christendom, the crossroads of Asia and Europe, this is a unique country. Our tour around Ankara will start early in the morning. At 8.30 a.m we will depart to one of the top Museums in the world, The Anatolian Civilizations Museum, or the Hittite Museum which is near the citadel of Ankara. The museum is one of the most beautifuland richest museums in the world with regard to its exhibits. The whole flow of civilizations of Anatolia is summarized in chronological order in this museum with many fine examples from the sites, starting from the Paleolithic period. Some of the remarkable exhibits in the museum are; Reconstruction of a Neolithic cult room, wall paintings dating to Neolithic times, Statuettes of Mother Goddess of Anatolia, Early Bronze Age stag statuettes, baked clay tablets, Midas Tomb, ancient jewellery, etc. We will have lunch in a very special restaurant inside the citadel of Ankara overlooking the entire city. Zenger Paşa Restaurant is a 18th C Ottoman pasha mansion that was converted into a delightful restaurant serving delicious traditional cuisine. Experience the local dishes of Ankara. After lunch, we will visit the monumental tomb of Mustafa Kemal
Atatürk one of the best leaders of the world and the national hero of Turkish people.The Mausoleum of Atatürk is believed to represent the Turkish Nation under the name and personality of Atatürk. And finally our guests will begiven a chance to bargain and shop at the new shopping mall of Migros, in order to also see the modern life in Turkey.
