Day 1-(Lunch\Dinner) We will meet you at your hotel and escort you to world famous Cappadocia region of Turkey. Our journey will start early at 8 am. in the morning. Welcome to Cappadocia known as Katpatuka by the Assyrians, the holy land famed for its horses, mules and sheep. Frequent volcanic eruptions of Erciyes and Hasan Mountains covered considerable parts of this triangle with tufa which is a thick layer of mud and ashes. Erosion by rain, snow and wind created fairy chimneys, surrealistic shapes of cones, needles, pillars and pyramids, often topped by an ingeniously balanced slab. The lunar landscape of the formations with an improbable range of colors can create a very impressive effect on the viewers resembling the Grand Canyon in Arizona. Some of the manmade caves are still in use as houses to the local people. The region was important for Christian world as early as 1st C AD. The old churches and chapels carved into rock formations date back to 6th 11th C. The frescos of these churches are impressive indeed. The communal monastery life was born in the region with the arrival of St. Basil in 4th C. Cappadocia is mentioned in the gospel of St. Paul among other references. The Christians and the Muslims shared the are until the population exchange

between Greece and Turkey, which took place in 1924. Today's itinerary will include Göreme Open Air Museum, Uçhisar, Pigeon Valley, Paşabağı, the Underground City of Kaymaklı,Zelve. You will have the chance to visit a carpet weaving center and know more about the handmade carpets that are considered to be the specialty of the region. After such a fantastic day, we will go to our hotel and rest. (Optional 1)After dinner at the hotel, time has come for the local entertainment in a cave restaurant. We will enjoy the local folk dancers performing from the seven different regions of Türkiye while drinking rakı (the national drink of Türkiye) and tasting the different mezes ( typical Turkish hord'oeuvres).

Day 2-(Breakfast\Lunch) (Optional 2) We will wake you up very early this morning in order to offer you a hot air balloon ride in the Cappadocian skies.After breakfast in hotel, we will drive back to the capital city of Turkey, Ankara. En route, we will stop to visit a 13th C caravansary built by Seljuks. Today you will also have the chance to visit a carpet weaving center and know more about the handmade carpets that are considered to be the specialty of the region. Return back to Ankara.
